Position Summary
The Senior Engineer will provide advanced technical and engineering support within a highly automated manufacturing environment, covering the weekend nights production shift.
What you will do:
- Actively interface with cross-functional team members, always practicing good team work in support of day to day operating requirements.
- Work within a highly automated manufacturing environment to maximise uptime, ensure processes runs consistently and ensure key business unit performance metrics are met.
- Liaising with Team Leaders with regard to productivity and efficiency performance issues.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems to reduce downtime or identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Provision of technical leadership/guidance for the Process / maintenance Technicians and other Manufacturing / Equipment Engineers on the team.
- Communicating regularly with Line Operators regarding issues, concerns and watch-outs on the production lines.
- Identifying and assisting the business with the implementation of technical improvements.
- To be a self-motivated cell support engineer who continuously strives for both self and business improvements.
- Responsibility for projects (value stream and cross functional) as assigned by the company, including the scoping, approval, budgeting, specification, execution, qualification and operational handover as appropriate.
- Undertaking, where appropriate, a Subject Matter Expert’s role for Regulatory Audit purposes.
What you will need:
- Level 8 Degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Proven Project Management skills through the delivery of business critical projects.
- Has 2 plus years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with both internal and external agents.
- Capable of technical leading, influencing and providing technical direction to Engineers, Coop Students, Technicians and operators as required.
- Capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined team in an aggressive, dynamic and results motivated environment
- Experience with process validation for products and processes; VP, IQ, OQ, PQ and associated documentation, and advantage.
- Demonstrable analytical & problem solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment
- Experience in a modern manufacturing environment ideally with previous experience in some or all of the following areas an advantage: Low / medium voltage electrical power systems, Pneumatics, PLCs, Instrumentation, Hydraulics, Calibration and Siemens Systems
- Demonstrable ability to work autonomously
- A team player, with a flexible approach.
- Technological pioneer, willing to source, investigate and implement technological and automation advances
- Confident and effective decision maker, with a proven leadership ability to negotiate and influence others.
